Rachel | 280 comments July is fiction month! I've actually already read this book, but when I read it I just knew it needed to be read by this group too. It's got everything - wildlife, drama, a realistic feeling, and a possible future with climate change & related impacts. The whole time I was reading it I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't real, that's how realistic this whole book feels. Charlotte McConaghy writes beautifully and I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading!!

Jen | 1 comments I read this book 2 years ago and I still think about it. I love the writing and agree with you that it felt very real. The author uses nature as a character and brilliantly introduces us to a future environment that is different than what we know now. That paired with the drama of the main character made this an incredible story for me. It's beautiful and devastating and one of my favorite books.
