single author sub-series for series with multiple authors?

the author of 3 books of a series of total 9 books asks, if it would be possible to create a separate (sub-)series just showing the three titles, so that the series shows up on the authors page. I think this would make sense, but I am not sure if it is according to the rules?

I have not seen a similar request so far and thus would be glad to get some advice :)

I don't think I've seen this done with multi author series. If this is allowed, it should be added to the manual.

Hi, my interpretation of the series rules in general, is that they focus on the story content of the books, not what authors want or how the books are promoted.

I don't think the author has expressed any story details yet that would justify a sub-series to be set up for the three books.
