SOLVED. YA Dark Fantasy about a serial killer/ potentially demons? [s]

I read this book in the early 2010’s, I’m pretty sure it ended up being a series but I only ever read the first book. I think at least part of the book happens in the 1920s but I’m not too sure, pretty sure the main character was called Evie, she’s trying to figure out who this serial killer is. I think she might live with her uncle in the book? And she goes to a private school? Not gonna lie this feels like a fever dream but I also think there was demons involved in the book or the Illuminati? It was a pretty hefty book if I remember rightly, I think the cover was a grey ish blue. If someone can figure this out from my very vague memories I’d be very grateful !

Could it be this The Diviners? protagonist is named Evie, there's a serial killer, set in the 1920's and mentions of her uncle helping the police.
