Both are about family strife which gets resolved.
The Monster Den: or Look What Happened at My House — and to ItThere once was a girl who never went to bed.
Every next day she had wool in her head.
Soft wool, scratchy wool, white, black, and brown wool.
All colors, all shades, and all of her head full.
Every next night for a week in a row
She never went to bed. She didn’t want to go.
Every next night for a month, for a year
She never went to bed. I hope it’s clear
That every next day the wool in her head
Grew thicker and thicker. And have I said
She never got up and she never lay down?
So she never got to wear her pink nightgown.
