It's not Care Bears or My Little Pony, but had a similar bright colored fantasy vibe with a cast of fantasy-like creatures that resembled real animals but were bright colors.

I don't recall the story very strongly but I believe some kind of like cute, fantasy bear-like creature is going around trying to help fix things for her friends and messing up. Like I remember the creature not realizing the one friend (a hippo or elephant kind of creature) wanted a flooded house. I wanna say I recall something to do with flowers.

I remember my older sister reading it when we were kids and it having a very like, girlie, bright colorful kind of vibe. I would recognize it from the art style, I think.

Kriss- could it have been something from the Wuzzles? For example: Butterbear Plants a Surprise. They were sort of animal "blends"- ex: hippo and rabbit, bear and butterfly, lion and bumblebee, etc. and also popular toys in the same era as the original Care Bears and My Little Ponies.
