becs | 178 comments ehh kind of for me?? I really liked it at the time of reading but I can def see what you mean, I do wish she had done more world building and explored Jude and cardans relationship more because there was so much to digest and disect as far as they go. holly has written a lot of books in that universe in general, so if you've read her other books, it might make more sense but readers obviously shouldn't have to read the authors every book for a series to make sense so that's not your fault obviously

Jasleen Kaur | 13 comments I knoww right!! Cardan and Jude content is a No No in the first book, Idk how much it will grow in other books of this series.
And I haven't read other books from Holly, and If it is better than this one I'll def read them Thanks (◠‿◕)

Sharafa | 4 comments This is what I felt.
I just started the final book of trilogy. It was too slow for me specially the second book.First half of both books were boring and it escalates so quickly in the second half.
Hopefully the final book delivers.Hope so!!

Lisa Spofford (asildroffops) | 20 comments I think that there is a lot of world building and that their relationship is an outcome of the story rather than the purpose of it. I liked that her relationship with her twin was as much of a focus. The book left the reader wondering about their relationship, wanting to keep reading because of the curiosity it raised.

Lisa Spofford (asildroffops) | 20 comments Yes. I agree completely. Romance isn’t the point. The book has a lot of substance and nuance.

Sofia | 8 comments I think that is why I did not really like this series. I read all three books and then the stolen heir because I don’t like having incomplete series, but overall it was not worth it for me. Each book took me so long to read because I was disinterested. There were definitely some really good parts but I think I just know now that I like faster paced fantasy with more romance. Also that I don’t need to finish a book series, it’s okay to not finish it if I’m not enjoying it! I just finished six of crows and kinda felt the same way that I did with the cruel prince. Instead of moving on with crooked kingdom ( which I almost did), I stopped myself and picked up ruthless vows which I am enjoying so much better( it might be a five star 🌟)

Shay | 30 comments For me personally it took awhile to get through the first book, i don't know if it was the world building or just the pacing 😭
