Hi Gaby
I have found this quote under Thomas's name, but because the correct attribution has more than 500 likes it will need a Super to merge it. can you add Needs a Super to the title of this thread?
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1071...
(I also found someone on Reddit who said he was Thomas & said he wrote the quote)
If a Super doesn't want to do this (there is a very old bug with merging) I will add a tag to say it is misattributed.

Even if you had added Needs a Super to the thread heading, a Super would be unlikely to merge this quote with the Iain S. Thomas one, as there is a bug with merging (essentially deleting the incorrect entry, but keeping the likes) that goes back at least 11 years. & even if it did get merged, this misquote is so wide spread someone would put it up again.
I am satisfied this isn't a Vonnegut quote, but I'm unfamiliar with Thomas's work. I can't use that Reddit thread as a source. So I've added a couple of tags thast make clear the quote is misattributed. Thomas is a Goodreads author - I'll see if he accepts messages. :)
Edit: Unfortunately Thomas doesn't accept messages & doesn't have the ask a question feature open.

Please add [resolved] or similar to the title of this thread if you are happy with the result. As I am not a Super I can't do anything else.
