LOL Jenny...I'm right there with you! I have both audiobook and ebook and OH MY GOSH! There are over 13 different narrators! I think 15 in all. But it's pretty cool actually.

(view spoiler)[I am not familiar with any (except Friday the 13th) slasher films and there's been so many allusions to them. I KNOW if I had seen the movies referenced that it would help me understand the characters better. But I still enjoy it.

Where are they? Idaho? Montana? It also mentioned North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming and I don't remember where else. I know the main setting is Idaho.

I don't like the name Dark Mill South. It just doesn't sound killer-ish. lol Is that the name of a movie, too? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Still wishing I knew more about these movies and their characters. Anyway, I feel like I am reading an anthology of short stories. lol There are SO many characters that I can't keep up with who is who/who did what, etc. But I'm still enjoying it.

So, Jennifer is 4 years older now so most likely more mature. I really liked her mother's POV. I felt like Kimmy was talking about not having protected Jade when she was younger because she didn't "keep guard." She had a terrible marriage to Tab, that's for sure.

And Cinn and Ginger are Dark Mill South's main targets now. I can't believe the carnage at the high school. So awful! But he sounds like he can't be killed unless they specifically use only certain methods explained early in this section by Jennifer. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished this book and I love it! I think Stephen Graham Jones is one of my new favorite horror authors. I loved all the references to other horror films...

(view spoiler)[I finished it yesterday and it was SO good! I felt like I was more into it and it wasn't quite as confusing (because it still was in some ways). But I think it's mainly because I was used to the writing style and all the allusions from book 1 so it made it a bit more doable for me.

I can't believe what poor Letha and then Cinn went through. And what a twin sister, right? Little Adrienne was so sweet when her mom got hurt. (hide spoiler)]

luckily I just finished with book 1 a few days ago, so I remember everyone! lol

I mean, it doesn't have to be the guy that went missing
I only think it's the teacher because the murders match movies - something the teacher would do -almost like a gift to Jennifer. He must think he's bringing her back - maybe he wants to kill the final girl?

and wow, Ginger was wild! She seemed to speak in circles but she dropped a few clues.

but the kids dying - Cinn was wrong. They aren't Jennifer's friends. They are highschoolers. So is he also trying to give a new final girl? Cinnamon? Is it somehow tied to Ginger?

there's a lot going on but I'm liking it

but so glad Letha (I think her name is spelled) made it. I love that she has a daughter.
and so so glad Hardy made it and that Jennifer wasn't put in jail for the whole massacre. Could there really be footage of the girl in the lake? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ It was interesting getting the mother's POV. I mean, she didn't protect her daughter because Jennifer's father raped her. The mom just took her to the clinic but NEVER took her out of the house. She LEFT her daughter with her rapist. I just can't with her.

I really like Letha and their relationship. I love that she's now watched all the horror movies and has caught up. I haven't watched all the movies they banter about but I've seen most of them!

it's also interesting getting the perspective of the kids being killed.
