SPOILERS. I read this to my kids maybe 10 years ago. The story is told by a dog. He is unhappy when his family adopts a cat. Eventually he is a "good dog" and saves the cat's life when it accidentally gets in the family's freezer. Google searching has been very frustrating because there is actually a book titled "A Dog in the Freezer" and also one titled "The Dog Who Rescues Cats" and I can't seem to filter them out!
