Here's what I can't figure out. They're all supposed to be reasonably smart kids. So how can they think that burning the house will do any good? The grandfather is sure to blame Gat for leading the others astray. He will have the house insured, and so be able to rebuild, and the daughters will still fight over it. This is not meant to be snarky, but I just didn't get it. It seemed an incredibly stupid move that couldn't work.

They were drunk as fuck when they did it. Drunk people aren't exactly known for intelligence or being rational.
