July - Group Read 'Six Degrees of Separation'

um... we don't have to read all these in July do we? Even speed reading 2 at a time, one per eyeball and listening to 2 audio books on 4 times at a time, one per ear - I don't quite think that I could manage it. ;)

Hee hee, no! What a task that would be! Just one (or two or three...).

Challenge Suggestion for Choosing Books
For those who want to see all these discussion posts in one handy list, just go to the right column to 'Books Mentioned in This Topic' and I dare say most of the listed books will show up there.

Great book! This is an innovative tale with good character development and an interesting plot. Both the Collins family and the Bennet family are different than canon.
4.5 stars rounded to 5

The Clergyman's Wife: A Pride & Prejudice Novel
The Heiress: The Revelations of Anne de Bourgh
I also hope to finally listen to Marvelous. I have owned the Audible for quite a while now and never have listened.

I love that your pick was such a stellar read for you, Liz. Super that you already polished it off. :)

Off to a good start, Jen!

Off to a good start, Jen!

The Clergyman's Wife: A Pride & Prejudice Novel
The Heiress: The Revelations of Anne de Bourgh
and
Marvelous
The JAFF books were as great as they were the first time.
I have to note that I was disappointed with Marvelous. It was based on real people but as their lives went on and on, I found I just didn't care what happened to them.

Well done - two books I really must read. Maybe this will be the month I finally do ...

Yuletide: A Jane Austen-Inspired Collection of Stories
The Truth About Family
The Curse: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
Out of Obscurity
The Mistress of Longbourn

I really enjoyed The Truth About Family

Always great to see a five star for a challenge book. I'll have to look this one up. Woohoo, Kimbelle!

Sam's on fire!

indeed (and without the dodgy looking fish!)

It so is! I also just finished one from the back of the Kindle shelf called Darcy's Kiss: A Pride and Prejudice Variation that I also did for the Dusty Shelf add ;)! A 2-for-1 deal and it, too was a blast! We are so fortunate to have such fun authors~

The ones I have read are,
Lady Beth Fitzwilliam: Part 1 - Kidnapped: A Pride & Prejudice Variation by Shana Granderson A Lady and Spies of Our Acquaintance: A Pride & Prejudice Variation by Brigid Huey.
I gave them both 3* - somewhat grudgingly, but I am full of cold and may be a bit grumpy!
Craftyhj wrote: "I have read 2 from the list so far. I am afraid neither of them really 'floated my boat' but I shall plough on and hope to find one I really enjoy before the end of the month.

Well wishes to get over your cold, Heather! Shame the books weren't good enough to distract from it, but we live in hope for the next book to do the trick. :)

This was the very first modern variation I read having resisted them for a long time. A solid 5*+. Now to read the next in the series.

The Happiest Couple in the World: A Sequel to Pride & Prejudice
In Default of Heirs Male
A Sister's Curse: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
Mr. Darcy - A Man of Honour: Pride and Prejudice varation
An Odd Situation: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

Had a false start earlier this week when I was under the impression that The Second Mrs. Bennet was on the list. Haha! But, got to one that really was this time, The Bachelor Mr Darcy by Julie Cooper.
This was a 5 star read for me.
