Hello everyone, my name is Eileen and I live in Florida. I just joined Goodreads and this group. We've had a criminal defense law office since '97 so I like reading legal/crime/police proc. books in my little free time. Look forward to getting to know the group!

Welcome Eileen! I love the same type of books tho I'm from a DNA scientist background. My only peeve is some authors use this forum to promote their books rather than to share published juicy ones. Hope you share your favorite authors with us.Annette

It doesn't always work. I'm sure it's worth checking them out as well.
Welcome to the group, Eileen. I'm sure you will get many excellent recommendations here.
Welcome Eileen. I am a retired paralegal (tax). I read a lot of crime, too. Not necessarily tax crime.
Welcome Eileen. I have yet read anything set in NZ. Although, some are on my Read list.Another Pet Peeve of mine is some (not all) Authors will "like" or "follow" a review you wrote, send you a Friend request where all they have on their Profile is Their books. Or they have NO books in common with you.
Bill, sometimes I think the Moderators are too polite. Some Groups on GR delete the violators Posts.
Welcome to the group, Eileen. Given your background, I recommend Defending Jacob, if you haven't already read it.
Wendy wrote: "Bill, sometimes I think the Moderators are too polite. Some Groups on GR delete the violators Posts."We do delete posts if the author starts getting repetitive, Wendy, but maybe we are a bit too polite. I blame being a Canadian for my politeness.. :)
Welcome, Eileen! I'm in FL too (although not by choice). Where are you?
Perhaps we are too polite as moderators, but I have to say, things have changed A LOT in the last year -- self-promotion used to clog every single thread. If you see shameless self-promotion going on where it shouldn't, feel free to say something right there and then -- we're moderators, not the police.

Hi Eileen!I just joined this group too. I'm also an attorney but do corporate/banking. I go to Florida pretty often for work. Will be in Jacksonville next week! I also love true crime/thriller/forensic stuff.
Take care,
Maria
