No, it is not a mistake but the bitter truth... Apparently I erroneously and unintendedly mistook a commercial webshop for a publisher's webshop and it seems that - no matter how much effort and time one has put into all edits in the past - one such a mistake is enough to have one's status revoked.

You must be frustrated, feeling that your hard work isn't apreciated by GR staff, but that is not true.
Explain them that a librarian that adds a couple of books per week, and a librarian that adds dozens of books per day shouldn't be dealt the same way when they make a mistake. They will be sensible to that.
