message 2: by Kayleigh. (new)

Kayleigh. | 123 comments I always thought I would never like Fantasy until about 5 years ago I read Six of Crows and now Fantasy is my favorite genre! So my first recommendation is Six of Crows but if for some reason you do not like it then I recommend the cruel prince.

eli (eliva4) | 15 comments One of the first fantasy books I read was fourth wing and I was hooked, I devoured it lol. And since then I heard about acotar, which is really popular and actually good, there is more books from Sara J Maas but I haven’t got to them yet. I heard “caraval” and “once upon a broken heart” is good but haven’t got to it yet. But I read last week “a fate inked in blood” and it was actually really good.

message 19: by rose (new)

rose (daughterofhearts) i agree with the cruel prince, six of crows, and fourth wing (three of my favs), but i also have to recommend divine rivals (esp if you're a historical fiction fan) and heartless (soooo underrated). once you get into the genre you won't be able to stop, trust me!!!

message 20: by Emma (new)

Emma Wilson | 43 comments When i started i jumped right in with fourth wing and im glad i did because i binged it and iron flame... so i will also rec that or powerless would be a nice little starter <3

Mette | 4 comments Ellie wrote: "I’ve been looking for ages and never read a Fantasy book before so if anyone has recommendations that will get me hooked please!!"

I think Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber is really good and addicting book everyone should read. I have read it at least two times and it never gets boring. You will literally fall in love with the mmc and have an obsession for him but it's normal when we talk about Jacks <333

message 22: by Desiree (new)

Desiree Hall | 19 comments I'm not much of a fantasy reader but I enjoyed ACOTAR

message 23: by Natilie Bell (new)

Natilie Bell (claireannabel) | 479 comments fourth wing!!

message 24: by Soft Nectarine ~ (new)

Soft Nectarine ~ | 487 comments A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (vampires, witches, demons)

ACOTAR series by SJM

Married to Magic series by Elisa Kova (5 standalone with unique magical systems)

The Winter King by C.L.Wilson (probably closest to ACOTAR)

A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle Jensen (Norse methodology, only one book is out so far)

One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig (unique magic system/duology)

message 25: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmamag) | 6 comments I loved 'The Ever King' by L. J. Andrews. It has a very strong FMC as well as MMC, with a ton of complexity and heroism. If you liked Game of Thrones or Vikings, it's definitely up that alley of spicy. I also realllllly liked 'Rule of the Aurora King' by Nisha J. Tuli. It is literally a must read if you like ACOTAR.

message 26: by ruby ౨ৎ (new)

ruby ౨ৎ | 35 comments i fell in love with fantasy because of six of crows, it's light enough fantasy to understand and the six of crows duology is AMAZINGG!! however if you more fantasy i would go with once upon a broken heart

message 27: by Bethan (new)

Bethan | 5 comments The House Witch was a book I hadn't heard of, but the cover hooked me, and I fell in love with it! Very excited to read the next two in the series!

message 28: by Mia!! (new)

Mia!! | 4 comments LIGHTLARK!! Super easy to understand especially when you have all of the realms powers & curses on the first page.
It’s honestly such a fun experience and even though it may seem like the first 200 pages are boring or there’s too much of something, ITS ALL WORTH ITTT.
Honestly love the book, and the romance? HELLUR?? So good

Alexandra🎀 (semi hiatus) | 136 comments I really recommend powerless by Lauren Robert’s. It’s one of my favs of all time!! It’s like the hunger games but better(in my opinion)🫶🏻

message 30: by Reading Mouse (new)

Reading Mouse (readingmouse_21) | 133 comments I’m reading Powerless right now and It’s giving Hunger Games, and I think both books would be a nice book to introduce you to the fantasy world! I know that some people who read ACOTAR and TOG for their first fantasy book thought it was to “fantasy” but they are still amazing series I would recommend. Fourth Wing is also amazing but there are a LOT of dragons so if you think it’s a little to early for that make sure you get to it some other time! And I really recommend Heartless by Marissa Meyer. It’s one of my favorites and totally underrated, it’s a standalone and it’s a book I will recommend to anyone!
