It was a fantasy type of book. I remember it being a small paperback and old. So older than 20 years!

There was a kingdom and a prince that was to take over the throne. He was then put under a spell by a friend or someone who worked for his dad (I think). I believe he was aloof what was going on around him.

There was a girl who lived in the town who helped release the spell and they ended up falling in love

I know this is literally is no information and I do realize this is the plot of most fantasy novels haha
