Looks like I need to start reading faster! I've only just begun, but I'm listening to "Flags on the Bayou" by James Lee Burke about a runaway slave, so that's adventurous. I'll probably read a couple of Tom Clancy books. I'm also reading "You Never Know," by Tom Selleck, which might count - I'll see.
Running List Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands
The Traitor's Blade
The God of Lost Words
To Davy Jones Below
Murder at the Breakers
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Mountains Beyond Mountains
The Raven's Revenge

Finlay Donovan is Killing It
Death in St Petersburg
4 down and 1 to go. (After that everything is icing on the cake.) When I asked for suggestions, of course one nephew mentioned the "InvestiGators" series. So I decided to reread the first one: InvestiGators
Debbie's Running ListI have finished the minimum. No, I have no formal plans to read 5 fiction and 5 non-fiction. I just wanted to separate them. Like Carolyn said, everything from now on is icing.

2. Touching the Void: The True Story of One Man's Miraculous Survival by Joe Simpson ( Review ) 6/11

That's really good to know. I haven't read them, so I wasn't sure.

I am so pleased that so many of you are reading through the challenge so quickly. I'm still on my first book. :D
I’m only seeing these reading challenges for the first time today- and I’m super excited! So far this month, I think the following is the books I’ve read could be considered ‘adventure’:
Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
The Unmaking of June Farrow - Adrienne Young
Cahokia Jazz - Francis Spufford
Sky's End - Marc J Gregson
Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir

I can absolutely confirm for the first and the last, having read them myself, each at an earlier time. The first is on my "hopeful" list for this year but may not be this summer.

Welcome! I love that you were already reading adventure books, and finished the challenge, and you have a whole two months left! Feel free to keep adding on to your list. It's fun to see what everyone is reading.

Last month I read The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien. 1/5 completed for the challenge so far. :)
Finished my fifth book. Probably needs some explanation though. I decided to think outside the box and come at adventure from a different direction. I wanted something that would be an adventure in some way on my part. I read Save the Cat! Writes a Novel: The Last Book On Novel Writing You'll Ever Need. Not that I actually have any plan to write a novel, but I like books and as well as learning. Also, not something I read about all the time. Books about books that I have read lately are more from a reader's or bookseller's perspective.
1. The Rogue Knight2. The Hike
I'm trying to decide what really counts as an adventure. These two for sure.

Adventure Books read so farThe Hobbit
Jim Henson's Labyrinth: The Novelization
Truckers
Wings: The Third Book of the Nomes by Terry Pratchett
Tell Her Story
Here are my five adventure books:1) The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver - This is the first book in the series that is the basis for the TV series “Tracker,” which I’m enjoying.
2) A Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan - I started watching The Wheel of Time series on Prime and think I sort of know what’s happening. So many people love this series, and I think I would like it better, knowing what is actually happening. Lots of action and adventurous characters.
3) Unwedding by Ally Condie - This was a Reese Club pick, I believe, plus Condie is an Utah author. While it might be more of a mystery, I think it qualifies as an adventure as well, as the main character goes on a trip to a place she hasn’t been to.
4) Shady Hollow by Juneau Black - This is a cozy mystery series that I learned about from some coworkers. I don’t usually ready cozies, so my adventure was to try this out and I really liked it. The characters are all forest animals. The author said if people didn’t like the idea of animals, they could think of the characters as people, but with animalistic traits (I think).
5) James by Percival Everett - This is a retelling of the Huck Finn story from Jim’s point of view. The narration is awesome. I’m not quite finished, but should be done next week - I’ll update this post when I finish.
Fun challenge!
Update - finished listening to James by Percival Everett - excellent!!
Can y'all believe there's only one more week in August!
