Fugo Feedback (fugofeedback) | 2 comments The new policy that says "[collected] comics with no ISBN are considered invalid" makes no sense at all and only generates errors, chaos, and injustice.
There are a lot of collected editions of comics (or "graphic novels") with no ISBN for a lot of different reasons: old editions when ISBNs were not common in comics, books that originally had ISSNs, books that repeat the same ISBN for all the series, editions from countries where books do not usually use ISBNs, etc. But they are books in every single way: they have spines, pages, publishers, and sometimes collect exactly the same content as other editions with ISBN or ASIN.
There are even series whose books start with no ISBN at all in the first books and incorporate it further into the publication. Should we accept that the first books are invalid and that only when the ISBN is added do the books in the series become valid? Every collected comic book previous to the popularisation of ISBNs should be marked as Invalid?

I don't know why this changes have been made or how to reverse it, I don't even know if this is the place to talk about it. But I hope it would be reconsiderate it to make this page great for all the users in all the globe. In the last few years, Goodreads has been full of fake books with fake authors and fake editions only because they have ASIN and marking collected comics editions as Not a book or invalid just because now ISBN are mandatory is really unfair.
