Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 587 comments Speaking off, Team 5 (I Plead the Fifth!) seems to have a tiny difference as well. Here is what I have (and also in the Reporting Thread).

Week 1: 593
Week 2: 503
Week 3: 747
Week 4: 609

TOTAL: 2452

Please do let me know if I missed or miscalculated something.
Thanks, Lanelle, for putting up the leaderboard.

P.S. If it helps, I maintain a leaderboard based on the reporting thread in our team's spreadsheet for internal tracking. Happy to share it if it helps you.

Leaderboard is fixed. If you see any more errors, please PM me.

(And someone remind me not to run any more team challenges that rely on numbers :)

Trinia | 81 comments Can we include subtitles for the following tasks? for example the book title There Is No Ethan: How Three Women Caught America's Biggest Catfish

119. Read a book with an apostrophe in the title (could be in a contraction like don't, or a possessive word like dog's or Charlotte's)

130. Read a book with all the letters of TACT in the title

message 108: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20515 comments Mod
Subtitles don't fit the tasks unless the task specifies. Sorry.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 2318 comments Has anyone found the "2024 Jenga Bingo Reading Challenge" task, or prompt?
The link in the post did not work for me so Googled it and came up with Graphic Novel or Manga. Is that also what you all found?

Kat (bookworm2017) | 111 comments Romance counts as long as there’s an mpg saying romance doesn’t it?

Are you asking about ones that say something like, Contemporary Romance, Paranormal Romance, etc...?
Because that would be my question. 😁

I'm sorry the link didn't work. Yes, Graphic Novel or Manga is the right prompt. Thanks for posting the information.

'Romance' is the MPG genre I'd prefer. but I'll accept the examples you gave, Alison.

Meg wrote: "Where do I find the points for week 5, please? Thanks!"

The points for Week 5's tasks won't posted until all the Teams have submitted their Team Completion Posts. When that has happened, I'll edit Week 5's tasks message to include the task points.

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 587 comments Hey Lanelle, if someone started a book they chose for the week but DNFed it along the way because it did not work for them, do we still get to use the book for the prompts and buddy read? Thanks! :)

I truly understand there are many reasons for DNFing a book. I'm sorry, but I really can't give points to someone for not finishing a book. That would open whole barrel full of problems.

Beth | 459 comments For task 160 (I think) it says between Tuesday and Thursday. Does that mean I start reading on Tuesday and finish on Thursday, or that the action inside the book starts on a Tuesday?

Yes start on Tuesday and end in Thursday

Kat is correct. You begin reading on Tuesday and finish on Thursday.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 2318 comments For the task read a book written by a David, Dave, Davy, Davida, or even Davis
Can it be first or last name?
Would Davidson work?
Or only the exact ones listed?

It can be either the first or last name. And let's stick with the five names I listed.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 2318 comments Ok, thanks

Upton | 243 comments Hey Lanelle - I think our point total on the leader board is incorrect. I think we had 2503 for points going into week 6. Week 6 we scored 588 - I think - so our total would be 3061.

You have team 2 with 3061. Maybe our numbers are mixed up. Thanks!

Beth | 459 comments For 170. - read a book with a significant character who is angelic (your definition)

I vaguely remembered there was an angel in Styx and Stones so I reread that this week. The angel is a large statue in a graveyard that is the murder weapon. It gets some page time as various characters discuss it and its backstory and construction before and after the murder.

Does that count as a character?

message 130: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20515 comments Mod
I was going to tell you no, it needed to be a person until I looked up the definition.

"angelic, an adjective that describes something or someone related to angels or having angelic qualities" Merriam-Webster

You win your case :)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 587 comments Lanelle, quick question.
If someone misses two deadlines across the challenge, can another team member use another book to satisfy the tasks?

Apoorv wrote: "Lanelle, quick question.

Yes! I'm so sorry that I didn't catch that this has happened for your team. This is what I posted on Team 7's thread: Since [a certain team member] hasn't made a Completion Post for the second week in a row, she is removed from the game.

Your team now has fewer than 5 members. According to the rules, someone on the team can use a second book that they read this week (Monday 12:01 am to Sunday midnight) to score points for the missing 5th person.

Obviously, this applies to your team. Go ahead and have someone on your team report a second book.
