Thinking solely of the mystery, I liked this one more. Secret messages in flower bouquets, poisonous plants, and a serial killer. I like a lot to read about flowers, apparently.

I also liked Saffron, the main character. She's a woman of science with strong beliefs. Even if I don't always agree with her views, I definitely appreciate her strength of character and her refusal to bend for personal gain. She's a lot like me in this regard.

I like the time period, too. I think the jazz age is my favorite era to read about in historical fiction.

From a romantic point of view, we have a love triangle in this one. I'm not a fan of love triangles, but this one wasn't terribly bothering. It even provided a few interesting scenes.

The mystery itself was a bit predictable, but given that I'm always happy when I guess the killer, I can't complain about that.

I can't wait for the next installment to come out.
