hmmm. . .I'm finding this one to be a slow start

Royo (view spoiler)[ his story is interesting but also a bit bland. he's your typical tortured male that just can't be with another woman because he's just so broken. Meh. He's nothing new.
but I'm curious who he's guiding to the king. Aeri seems much more interesting. (hide spoiler)]

Euyn (view spoiler)[ I hope we get a bit more of his story. he's on the run but interesting that he is ALSO heading to the king to kill him

why are they all coming at one time?

Sora (view spoiler)[ I like that she is a poisoner. I found her poison lipstick interesting. but I find her "anything to save my sister" story a bit of a let down. . . (hide spoiler)]

I'm on page 307, chapter 50 and do agree it is slow. Nothing significant happened so far. Waiting for the "battle".

I just finished it last night. What I did not know is that Five Broken Blades is the first book of a trilogy. That explains the slow build and the ending.

I didn't know it was the first in a series until the book had already arrived from BOTM!

I agree, it's a really slow build. I'm glad you liked it more than I did, Julia!

Sora (view spoiler)[I feel a little differently about her. I understand how she feels regarding Daysum BUT she does take it to the extreme. But the Count is HORRIBLE and he's cruel and vicious, so I understand why she's worried for her sister. And the poison at least seems potentially more merciful. (hide spoiler)]

I feel most for Sora who now knows Ty is supposed to kill her after she kills Joon.

I like Mikail's and Euyn's relationship. They are in love but would Mikail kill Euyn for the right price?

Now are Sora and Aeir going to become betrayal partners? Hmm...curious to see where that goes. (hide spoiler)]
