Jade (jadenicolereads) | 19 comments What is something you like about reading books?

For me it’s a way to experience something and follow a story, at times including feelings that I can relate to :)

thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and
seen the end of time.
Because I read."

Christine | 93 comments Reading for me is like entering someone else's world and getting to experience new places and people and feel their feelings. It is such an entertaining escape, like movies and tv but with reading you can put your own vision on everything and go at your own pace.

sarah | 288 comments There is so much I can say about this topic. That feeling of excitement and anticipation when you’re totally vested in that world the author has created. I love the escape from my own reality and feeling like I accomplished something great when I count down how many books I’ve read and how it builds my vocabulary. Reading is the best thing I could teach my kids to do.

Brian | 186 comments I believe, one of the greatest assets gained by reading...is it makes you, personally, more-interesting and well-rounded. It strengthens your awareness and importance of vocabulary (if you challenge yourself), increases your knowledge of historically moments or geographically features encompassing the world in which we live in, which, truth be told...isn't so awfully bad. And there's the visceral effect of reading, where reading a certain passage from a novel just sticks with you, because of it's execution of content or beauty of pose or extordinary prose.
