I love reading because it just takes my mind of my own issues, I call it my escape. I also like new characters that make you feel connected even if they aren't real.
One of the many reasons why I love movies and books: they give me lots of inspirations what places to visit on trips over the past 45+ years.
The most beautiful tip was in Douglas Kennedy's master piece "Pursuit of Happiness". Thanks to this novel I discovered Popham Beach in Maine.
Helps me with my anxiety for sure putting me in a different world /reality.

Reading for me is like entering someone else's world and getting to experience new places and people and feel their feelings. It is such an entertaining escape, like movies and tv but with reading you can put your own vision on everything and go at your own pace.

There is so much I can say about this topic. That feeling of excitement and anticipation when you’re totally vested in that world the author has created. I love the escape from my own reality and feeling like I accomplished something great when I count down how many books I’ve read and how it builds my vocabulary. Reading is the best thing I could teach my kids to do.
There is nothing better that getting kicked in the guts and then hugged (in a reading context, obviously).
the reprieve, from life, from your own mind, it allows endless creativity, and feeds into your own delusion or fantasies, it invites curiosity and reflection, it takes time, and it is most often peaceful

I believe, one of the greatest assets gained by reading...is it makes you, personally, more-interesting and well-rounded. It strengthens your awareness and importance of vocabulary (if you challenge yourself), increases your knowledge of historically moments or geographically features encompassing the world in which we live in, which, truth be told...isn't so awfully bad. And there's the visceral effect of reading, where reading a certain passage from a novel just sticks with you, because of it's execution of content or beauty of pose or extordinary prose.
I just like to escape from real life for a few hours each day.
Reading enriched my life. And movies, too.
For me, It takes me to another world and makes me forget about reality for awhile.
