SOLVED. Historical Fiction book meant for about 5th graders?? The main character is a Jewish girl. IT IS NOT ABOUT WW2. This girl's family I believe tries to marry her off but she doesnt want to so she stows away on a ship and dresses up as a boy. [s]

Just to remind everyone, NOT A WW2 STORY. I remember that very clearly, it took place before that. The book starts with her getting caught and in that time period (maybe catholic France???) there weren't supposed to be Jews. anyway it gets revealed that she's not a boy and she ends up telling her story (that's how the book starts) to a rich guy. She does end up finding a past friend before she stowed away and they might(??) have gotten married. She has gold flecked eyes and the rich guy (when he still thought she was a boy) asked if she was circumcised. After telling her story she moves in with an older lady and thats pretty much where my memory fails me.
If anyone has any idea what it could be, help would be very much appreciated!!
