read "As long a the lemon tree grows" it made me cry so much.
Telephone of the Tree - it's for 9-12 but had me sobbing pretty much the whole way through.Bridge to Terabithia - 9-12 again but I am still crying over the ending (it's been a good few years too)
Books that make me super sad and sometimes very nauseated are the World War II books in the non-fiction section. I don't think I'll say any more. too many graphic details.
Young Mungo did it for me. As did How to Stop Time.

Actually, I felt like that about Achilles Song. Beautiful story and you know from the beginning there will be no happy ending, but, hey, it's my favourite book of this year so far and in my top ten.
Oh the book that made ugly cry in a way that I was devastated and couldn't stop thinking about it for days was "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah
You can try "We Were Liars" and "Five Feet Apart".
A Thousand Splendid Suns or The Kite Runner, both by Khaled Hosseini
Some Mistakes Were Made by Kristin Dwyer. Also The Time Traveler's Wife is a good way to guarantee a bout of ugly-crying.

True Notebooks: A writer’s year at Juvenile Hall by Mark Salzman Cried multiple times throughout the book and when it was over. Favorite book to date!

I can second the If He Had Been With Me rec. (I didn't actually cry, but I came close.)My actual recommendation, may not be your cup of tea, Pack Up the Moon by Kristan Higgins. Its about grief and loss, where ...Been With Me, is about heartbreak.
The Shake by W.M. Paul Young. will have that feeling. A gut punch. You will be hugging anyone who means the most of.
The Fault In Our Stars, made me sob my eyes out. And Turtles All The Way Down. Not very heartbreakin or nothing, but sure did make me sick to my stomach at some parts.
The Nightningale made me cry multiple times which is very rare for me in a book
If you wanna really feel that deep down touching book I recommend. The miraculous adventure of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamilo.
don't know if i commented this already, but Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann ripped my heart out of my chest, stomped the fuq out of it, then put it back in without anesthesia, sooo... do with that information what you will ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. It’s beautifully written, powerful and moving but is the most heart rending book I’ve ever read in all my years. It’s about a girl who grows up with just her father, who is working with a group of men to create the first Oxford Dictionary. This is the tale of her life and of her self appointed mission.
Throne of glass series (Last book, its a.. 6 or 7 book series but its worth it) maybe Powerless too that ending broke me
