New edition as default

Hi - Perhaps this can't be done, as I read through some threads.
I have a new expanded edition of my novel, Correction Line. I've uploaded the new cover and description - but I guess the original has to stay?
Is there a way to make the new book the default?

You can edit the preferred edition book record and set it as default.

Librarians can't do it at all.

I was asking because I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
All I have is "combine editions" etc.
But I'll keep looking.
