Sarah | 276 comments I'm like Tricia. I've read up to this one, but I don't know when I'll have time to start it. Not soon. I'll definitely keep checking in for comments, though.

Sarah | 276 comments Sorry about your accident, Tricia, and the resulting hassle. I hope things work out.

My library's copy of this book is checked out, so I put my name in the reserve list. I should be up next, probably about my vacation time in three weeks! :)

message 14: by Narnies (new)

Narnies I'll reread it with everyone, it's definately worth it! And my favourite out of the series so far :)

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Thanks Ariana! Depending on my reading 'plate' I might go on and read #4 and so forth.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Awww its OK Trish. News is news whenever you have to share it. I am glad your OK though =D [[[Trish:]]]

Unapologetic_Bookaholic [pg.26:]
The beginning is great! I love how Nalini Singh sets up a bit of Psy history with each installment. Skin privileges and the Psy-Changling pairing hasn't lost isn't charm yet.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I am reading a couple other books so I am slowly getting through CBI. I loved idea of the Arrow Psy and am glad to finally be reading Judd's story. I like that Brenna is strong but scarred. Nalini knows how to cast her characters without making them the typical PNR H/H.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I always like watching the process of the Psy breaking programming and their jobs are always so interesting.

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 276 comments I just started reading, and I'm up to chapter 14. At first I was afraid I wouldn't like Brenna and Judd, but they are growing on me.

I find Judd's descriptions and reactions to the Arrow protocols very interesting. It gives him a means of understanding Brenna in a way no one else can. In a way, he's the most worldly Psy to date to be experienceing breaks in the Silence training. The ladies were sort of sheltered, but Judd was an assassin.

I love NS's world. It really is something different from lots of other PNR books out there. Silence is a hideous creation! But it makes for interesting reading.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I like the Psy because they aren't only paranormal but just super human strength. It is something that makes you think what if someone thought it was OK to do this to people. The Psy world is very realistic and I love it.

Sarah | 276 comments Finished today.

QUESTIONS before or after you read the book

Did you Judd and Brenna make a good couple? At first, I thought not. Then, when I realized that no one else could understand what both of them were going through but each other, yeah. I liked them a lot. I think Vaughn and Faith are still my faves, but Brenna and Judd are close.

Do you like the plot? Yes. I like plots that sort of set up man to triumph over the machine, and that's what battles between the Psys and Changelings feel like. This book, though, felt like it was leading up to something bigger, especially with all the Psy Council bits.

What do you like about the Psy-Changling world the most? I like that all the characters are very strong, but the main couples always choose the well-being of their loved ones over what is easier--mostly for the Psys staying in the Net or not. I'm a sucker for love conquers all plots!

Do you think you would recommend this book to others? Heck yeah!

Would you change anything? Not yet.

Would you read other books by Nalini Singh[feel free to link the ones you have read/reviewed:]? Yes. I read Angel's Blood, and I found that world just as interesting and diverse as the Psy/Changeling world. This is one talented storyteller.

What did you think of Judd? He grew on me faster than Brenna did. I admire his strength and resolve not to hurt those he loved, even at great cost to his own well-being. It literally HURT him to love!! How can you not admire that?

Are you going to read the rest of the series? Yes. I own a couple of the later ones, but I'm not sure where they fall in the series. I need to look that up again.

How long did it take you to get into the book? It was slow going at first, but I think that was because I was wading through exposition that I already knew, namely worldbuilding and introducing wolf characters. Once I got past that, full steam ahead!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I am about halfway through . So I'll be commenting on your answers soon. Thanks for answering the questions Sarah! Feel free to add some of your own. Some things about the story you thought were interesting.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic pg. 231

I am nearing the end! I want to start Bk 4 right after this, we'll see. I really do love how hard Judd is holding on to his Silence training. Though it literally hurts him to desire Brenna, he still wants her.

When he explained the dangers of sleeping with him and Brenna was like 'you won't hurt me.' I was like hmmm? But Nalini Singh is the master of sexual suspense and I love that they only yet to explore each other.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Finished =D, loved it, to be reviewed!

QUESTIONS before or after you read the book

Did you think Judd and Brenna make a good couple? As it stands I really like Brenna and Judd as a couple. They make up what I love about romance. The tortured hero and scarred heroine. I like that their emotional baggage [or lack of in Judd's case:] didn't weight down the story.

Do you like the plot? Yes. I can't always follow the minor details of the Council plots but I like the idea of Judd trying the be who he is and yet is being changed, b/c of Brenna.

What do you like about the Psy-Changling world the most? I like the originality of the Psy race.

Do you think you would recommend this book to others? The book, the series, the writer!

Would you change anything? Nope.

Would you read other books by Nalini Singh[feel free to link the ones you have read/reviewed:]? Yes. I read Angel's Blood, and I found that world just as interesting and diverse as the Psy/Changeling world. This is one talented storyteller.

What did you think of Judd? It literally HURT him to love!! How can you not admire that? I kept thinking the same thing. That his lack of emotions doesn't keep him from 'feeling'.

Are you going to read the rest of the series? Yes. I plan to buddy read Mine to Possess 12-23-09

How long did it take you to get into the book? Though had to sit it aside several times to read other books [Library, swaps etc:] I never felt I disliked the pacing. I ALWAYS grumble a bit at how long Nalini makes her characters wait before being intimate, but still loved it =D
