I Could Use Some Advice :)

As someone who has been at first reluctant to DNF, my advice to you is to get rid of this book ASAP. It is by all means the worst book I have ever heard of.By what you wrote, you DID give this... THING a fair chance. DITCH this book, and block the author if you have followed them.
Hope you listen to my advice before you begin to hear a stalk of celery speaking to you in your head.
A book challenge is not worth losing your mind. Jesus, Buddha, and Sarah J. Maas.

Oh god you've got me giggling.
honestly, just 'soft' dnf it right now and pick it up at a later time to give it a chance, but read books that you find interesting for this challenge and you know you're gonna enjoy them! have fun <33
i also find it really hard to dnf but if you aren’t enjoying it or are excited to read it maybe you should start a new one instead 💗 you can always go back to it if you change your mind
DNFing is okay and I think that's what you should. Maybe pick it up later but it's completely up to you. I wish you luck with the challenge and definitely going to be following you so I can watch how this challenge goes <33

I managed to read the first two books but a new job has made me lag a little on the week 3 book. WIsh me luck!!

So, I'm doing a book-per-week challenge and have 3 days to get ahead on this book before its week "officially" starts. The issue is, I picked it up, read chapter one, and am actively avoiding it. There's something that's rubbing me the wrong way. I just tried to read chapter 2, got only a few pages in, and am already nitpicking it (feels fanfiction-y, repetitive sentence structure, the girl is in love with a voice in her head, compares his name to a vegetable when she first learns it). I want to DNF, I really do, but I also believe in giving books a fair chance.
My choice is basically; try to get ahead and power through, risking not finishing it at all, or DNF now and pick a different book for this week despite not giving this one that much of a chance.
Like I said, if anyone can share their own experiences or thoughts on this, please let me know! This is a total dilemma to me.
