Notables for me from April include The Wolf Wilder by Katherine Rundell, which is set in Russia. Think of a wolf wilder as the opposite of a wolf tamer. When Feo's mother is accused of witchcraft, she must rely on her wolves to survive ... and to go to the rescue. I also finally got around to reading Small Spaces by Katherine Arden, which is the first in a series of MG horror. If you (or your kids) like scary stories, this has all the tropes. And I've been wanting to finish the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan. I made it partway through a few years back, then stalled out for some reason. So a re-read was in order before I proceed. I've added this to my GMGR 2024 Series Challenge goals, and I already zoomed through the first four books. They're great. Like ... really great.
