Terry O’Connor discovers that Graham has invested a substantial amount of Nick’s money in a company now exposed for using child labor in Thailand. It had the potential of impacting Nick’s election. Your thoughts about how they chose to handle the matter?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I would not have dumped the stock immediately, but I would have really taken it hard at the prospect of losing close to a million dollars. If I had been advising Nick, I would have told him to make a big public thing about how millions of hard-working Americans have lost their savings and use that to demand legislation, make the company better, etc.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I thought they handled it well. They dumped the stock which they did not want Nick associated with. They came out ahead of the story and told the public that both Nick and Graham owned stock in this company and that they had no idea that the company was using child labor.

message 4: by Sharon (new) - added it

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I thought they did a good job. I worried that getting rid of the stock quickly would look fishy. Letting the public know prevented a scandal.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments They made the right choice to dump the stock and make it public. Being associated in any way with the deaths of child workers is not a good look for someone in politics and covering it up would be a huge mistake - secrets always come out.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I thought their best hope was for Nick to be away, and Graham had a good reputation, so that his story was believed. Any other way would probably not have worked so well.
