I enjoyed the softness of this romance. This was a courtship. I liked Lucas, both as an entrepreneur and as a secret forces guy. I also liked Mckenna, and her amazing courage.
As a couple I didn't have an issue with him keeping the vows about his other life from her. I didn't like that such a strong vow was so easily broken.

I do believe, however, when Lucas broke that vow, it was to someone who knew as much and with whom he planned to share his life.
Agree with you both. A man who takes vows seriously is a keeper, as long as he's not totally letter-of-the-law about it in every aspect -- where a higher good is clear. Hope this doesn't sound wishy-washy, since that's quite the opposite of what I admired about him.
