Children’s book- animal tricks farmer by putting different eggs in hen house

I cannot remember the title or author. I read this book when I was a kid. It could have been published in the 70s, 80s or 90s, but based on the illustrations in my mind, it was probably late 80s or early 90s. Some kind of animal keeps placing random kinds of eggs in the henhouse. I’m not sure if a fox is trying to trick a farmer or someone is trying to trick a fox, but they keep placing eggs in the nests in the henhouse and they use a small, round turtle egg at one point.
