This was yet another historical fiction novel set during WW2 telling the story of an organisation I knew nearly nothing about – the Norwegian Resistance. The novel opens in a familiar way, as Anna is trained to be a British secret agent. There are the same type of tropes as is common in these novels – female spy in trained in Britain, joins the resistance in a European country, falls in love along the way, is in terrible danger (view spoiler)[before in this case, escaping, only to find that someone she trusted was not only pretending to work for the Nazis, but actually was betraying the resistance fighters to the Nazis (hide spoiler)]. I did enjoy this book, especially the details about the work that the Norwegian Resistance carried out, but the romantic relationships were two dimensional and the plot was very contrived at times.
