Pages: 559 pages

Length: 1 month (May)

Participants: Rebecca, Megan

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Megan (sporadic hiatus due to law school) (excessivenarwhal) | 172 comments Hi Rebecca! Just so you know, the plan for me is to start reading this either at the end of this week or beginning of next week. Whenever you start your read, I hope you enjoy it!

Rebecca Ray | 1285 comments I actually plan to start this one at some point this week. I have a couple of books I want to finish up first :-)

Megan (sporadic hiatus due to law school) (excessivenarwhal) | 172 comments Okay I started this yesterday and I’m not far in but it’s good! And I’ll probably binge read it within a day or so haha and definitely finish before the end of the month.

Megan (sporadic hiatus due to law school) (excessivenarwhal) | 172 comments I’m almost half way (yes I’m almost late but I THINK I’ll get it done by tomorrow??? 😅) and MAN this story is a ride. It’s so interesting with the descriptions, details/concepts, and that it’s also partly through the perspective of someone who is still so young to go through this. Add in Misaki’s perspective and her conflicting inner character and it gets even better.

Megan (sporadic hiatus due to law school) (excessivenarwhal) | 172 comments I forgot how bingeable this book is. Honestly, as I was reading, it didn’t feel like any time had passed until I closed my book and found it had actually been hours. The concepts and the plot line are so fun and interesting and the characters all have their own personal characteristics and flaws that make them unique but easy to connect with. I love The Sword of Kaigen, and I think it tells a story of a superhuman war through two characters you wouldn’t expect to tell it. Reading it brought tears and laughter and a whole host of emotions that will stay with me for a while.
