I can not for the life of me figure out the title of this book I'm looking for and can only vaguely remember key details. Since I can barely remember anything, after I list a detail I'll put a percentage of how sure I am of it.

High schoolers(90%) stranded in a mall(100%) during a snowstorm(85%). They end up sleeping in a mattress/furniture(100%) store located in the mall and at some point visit the movie theater(100%) that is also in the mall. Once a few people die probably(I can't remember who or how anybody dies), they eventually make it out and somehow they are able to create a movie adaptation(100%) about there experience.

I am pretty positive that this is a series and I have a feeling like the title was some sort of negative-ish adjective ie twisted. I remember the cover being dark with the title of the book popping out in some bright color. The book was pretty long and I think I read it around 2016-2017. I remember a few things about another book in the series I think? Not sure if the rules allow that so I'll just hold onto it for now.
