I can’t get into A.L. Jackson and Saffron A. Kent. I can’t get into their writing styles at all.

however, "heck no": sarah j. maas, ava reed

Instant no: Colleen Hoover

no: Jennifer lynn barnes, josephine angilni

Instant yes: the master that is Stephen King

Not necessarily a No more like a maybe, I'd have to really think about it maybe get a sample before buying their book or maybe just get it from the library instead, lol, anyway they are :
R.F. Kuang, don't come at me, it's not that I hate her books they are just not for me. I started to read The Poppy War and Babel and I have yet been able to finish because the political war info just drags for me.
Leigh Bardugo is again not necessarily an instant no, I did enjoy Shadow and Bone for the most part but not necessarily a favorite.
Colleen Hoover, the books are just way over hyped, I tried to read a couple and I could not. They were not for me, although a friend recommended me Verity and I trust her judgement so I might make an exception.

Don't really have an automatic 'no go' author. I've read a few classic novels that were painful, but it's hard to base an opinion on one read. If l did that...l'd have never read another Dickens...after Bleakhouse.

Instant NO: Colleen Hoover

Currently, an automatic no for me is Colleen Hoover. I haven't read any of her books (so my opinion isn't based on her writing) but after hearing everything online about the scandal, she's just a no from me. No hate to anyone who likes her books but I can't bring myself to support her.

Lisa Kleypas, Stephanie Garber, Alessandra Hazard, BB Easton
ABSOLUTELY NO:
Saffron Kent, Nicola Jane, Alison Rhyme, Portia Moore, CoHo

Sandra Brown
Iris Johansen
Janet Evanovich
Mary Higgins-Clark ( R.I.P.)
T.J. Newman has only wrote 2 books and I loved them.
Shari Lepena
B.A. Paris
I have read a few years ago but avoid Stephen King,
Dean Koontz

Heck yes: Stephen King and Riley Sager
Heck no: Colleen Hoover
I have read a couple books from Stephen King that I didn't like, but that's not going to stop me from going to check out his books first everytime I enter a bookstore. I only read a couple books from Riley Sager, but my opinions on them are great so far.
I haven't read anything from Colleen Hoover, but hearing what she apparently glorifies is an instant turn off for me.

Automatic No: Ruth Ware; Any author that writes smut

If they write again, I would instantly pick up their new book: Hobb, Rothfuss, GGK

No: Colleen Hoover (I tried but so much toxic masculinity), James Patterson (which we all know now, Stephen King calls him out on, is just a name place holder and he has ghostwriters)

NO: Sarah j maas and Cassandra. Im tired of them and I don't want to read 10 books to see the good part of the story

No: Colleen Hoover, Katherine Center (liked her older novels, dislike her newer ones), Jennifer Weiner

No: Colleen Hoover (I tried but so much toxic masculinity), James Patterson (which we all know now, Stephen King calls him out on, is just a nam..."
Agree on Colleen Hoover!!

NO: too many to list
Anything by Nora Roberts or Adrian Tchaikovsky I'll usually want to read and anything by Clare Sager is in my basket before I even realise it.
But I will not read anything by Cassandra Clare and sadly, I've read several books by James Kennedy and they are just not for me.
