Melody Daenshie (melodydaenshie) | 5 comments For me, I have been reading some of the more spicier fantasy books I see on the BookTok side of TikTok. Have you changed what you normally read based off of BookTok?

Lilah I’ve not read as much fantasy as I used to but I still enjoy it!

Veta | 1 comments Not the best experience on my part - none of super popular books everyone was gushing about turned out good.

Laura (weepixieni) | 1 comments Definitely. I was adamant I wasn’t going to read Sarah J Maas. I heard about the Crescent City Series and well that was me down the Sarah J Maas rabbit hole. Now about to start Crown of Midnight.

Malissa (malissa1578) | 163 comments It hasn't. I read what I want that sparks my interest. I don't base it on what others think.

Veronica Hawkins | 27 comments I always check out booktok to see what others are reading and if I see a book shown several times that people have said are good I will check it out. I will say that I have been disappointed sometimes after I have read books that a lot of people seemed to have liked but I have also found some real gems. I don't rely solely on booktok though. I enjoy researching titles myself and finding things that spark my interest. Hence the reason I have a HUGE TBR pile!

Bruna Galamba | 45 comments BookTok has helped me find more books in niches I already loved. Fantasy, dark romance, smut, you choose. People are not ashamed anymore to like this types of books. Long gone is the idea you have to read certain types of books because it is clever or a must, or it's for your intelligence. So you do find more options. As of now, I am not regretting any BookTok recomendation that I have read.

Emma | 112 comments I'm not really into most romance/romantasy, so I'm not really on BookTok. The few things I've tried left me really disappointed, so I tend to avoid a lot of their recommendations.

But that might just be me. I feel like I'm so hard to please with books these days :P

Jessica (rimble) | 1 comments I'm grateful for all book communities. Tiktok has helped me find authors I wouldn't have found previously. There are a lot of fantasy and romance recommends but I also find sci-fi and literary fiction.
