While I found this one to be slightly more interesting as our protagonist, Darren Shan, now is with the Cirque, it was very juvenile. It is intended for that age group but I'm just out of patience today (thanks to my teen!). I do like that Darren is really quite sensible and yet, he is still a child. He struggles with his identity in this one because while he needs human blood, he cannot yet discard his humanity ideals and drink from humans. I found this quite intriguing but the ending was really unsatisfactory (an eye roll & a big sigh).
