Del is sitting at a diner with Lucas as they’re waiting to trap Randy Whitcomb for murdering Betty, Lucas’s informant. He’s Stephanie’s cousin and wants Lucas to consider joining the case. But all hell breaks loose when Randy resists arrests and Lucas beats him viciously. Was he entitled since Randy came at him with a knife, excessive force or a bit of both? Did you think something was off with Lucas at the time?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments There wasn't any reason for Lucas to be so brutal. He is a cop and has rules to follow. As much as Davenport has used excessive violence in previous books, I did think that something was off with Lucas.
