To be a series on Goodreads, books need to have more than a common theme -- like characters in common, an overarching storyline, a shared universe, etc."

It doesn't appear on first glance that the books in this series have a common anything other than theme, is that inaccurate?

I have only read the first book but it is listed as a series on Amazon and it says "This is a standalone novella and part of the Villains Do It Better series. This steamy sci-fi romance features one morally gray assassin, a curious, badass heroine, and a steamy HEA." at the bottom of the summary for Rescued by the Alien Assassin: A Steamy Sci-fi Romance so I thought it would count as a series, if not I am sorry.

I get why it makes sense on surface that "if it's sold and advertised as a series elsewhere, it should be recorded as such here" but while that makes sense on the surface, it isn't the procedures the librarians are instructed to follow. :(
