Melindam | 8291 comments Yeah, romantasy & me are so and so.

For points I reread the Acotar series for Book Games (as the audio was included in the audible plus catalogue for a while), but I realised that I have had my fill of SJM books for a lifetime and I don't think I'll read any more books by her.

We have a new arena hazard: skewer-beaked birds

With 3 days left in the challenge, this may be our last hazard!

Melindam | 8291 comments As we are travelling again, unfortunately I cannot commit to more than the last book I have on the sheet (Etched in Bone). It can go for one of the Es.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Today I will be reading Funny Story for BOM points.

I will have time for another book if we need anything specific. I have another planned on the SS but I can hold off on it if we need another book instead.

message 1858: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments Sounds good everybody!

I've assigned a few books previously held for a district, to the spellout for now. When we finish this district and get our last one, we can move books around if needed.

message 1859: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments @Cat: I moved your A Broken Bone to the spellout, and assigned your When Among Crows to the district. Does that work for you?

If it doesn't I'm reading Battle Ground which can go in either for the B or blue text on cover.

(H and J aren't useful letters right now).

There are a lot of books that need letters to fit, but I don't know how this particular one works. My book that was set in Russia is the reason for it being used for B, so it's not going by title/author only. I don't see where the AH85-AH91 tasks are. How can I see those to know if any of my other books will work, such as The Angel of Indian Lake would work for letters A or S, but I don't know if it can be used based only on the letter...if I make ANY sense at all! lol

We are going off of Authors first name, last name, or book title

I believe we already used The Angel of Indian Lake and thats why you cant see that one?

Since we are unlikely to get to another district before the challenge finishes, the books that had been kept back for that are being used in the spell out wheel (R3mini-hazards tab).

Your Russia book has been moved so that we are using the B at the start of its title rather than its location.

Basically at this point we are just trying to get as many points as we can from the books we have on hand.

I haven't read that one yet. It's on my SS so I was wondering if we needed it for either A or S.

OK, I just saw that the reason was set in Russia and another book said set in Mexico, so that threw me off.

I switched it back because when Among crows does not have blue lettering, I can use When among crows in the W. I can read the next book in series for B

message 1868: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8291 comments I will put Lauri's Singapore book for I (series title) and my Georgette Heyer book for author's initials in Fishing. Thst way, both can be used for extra points

message 1869: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8291 comments Scratch that. Sorry, just saw that my GH book was used already. :)

Catherine (royaltiescmb) | 660 comments Can we use 11th hour as E for Eleventh? I double checked all books read. Looks like we missed on about 5 books :(
I moved some things around to make as many work as possible

message 1871: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments Good to know the S book might help, Sophie.

message 1872: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments I finished FUNNY STORY so it went to letter E in the spell out, but it's also listed for a lot of D tasks. I just left it there, but obviously feel free to move it around. I'm starting on my S book now. Hubby leaves for work soon so I shouldn't take too long.

message 1873: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (royaltiescmb) | 660 comments This book- a must listen to in audio and once you get past the tear-filled] laughter. I imagine this in a theater being performed. I highly recommend everyone experiencing once,

I've just finished one that works for D so can swap that one out for you. I'm trying to work out what I can manage to read in the next 36 hours.

After that, it'll be time to concentrate on the monster wheels and my tbr challenges to try to shrink that monstrosity again!

message 1881: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8291 comments Apart from monster wheels, I'm really behind with my Neygalley books, have to read those finally. :)

message 1882: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments

We're in the final hours - about 36 hours left in the challenge!

If you have any books you're reading that you haven't yet added to the planning sheet, please do so now - we will try to use every letter in this hazard spellout - and I think we'll be able to spin for one more.

Lauri and I are reading a book that will hit the D4 author initials in FISH, so whoever gets done first, we'll then spin for our last district of the challenge.

You all are doing great - we're in the homestretch!!

Hey Cat! I took the "R." I will finish in about an hour or so, I did not mean to actually replace it but I accidentally deleted your title when someone adjusted the SS at the perfect wrong time. So you will have to refill that space in again. Sorry!!

message 1884: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I’ve finished The Singapore School of Villainy for Author’s initials in fishing & marked it off on the tracking sheet…

Dunno how many more books I will manage to finish before the end. I am off this week, but we celebrated our 35th anniversary yesterday & have a funeral tomorrow. So many relatives are in town, the planned reading has fallen by the wayside! Hope to complete at least 2 more….

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments

We moved a few books around and now have a new district AND a new hazard spellout:

DISTRICT 1: need
- RICH in title
- purple colour cover (50%+)
- item related to district on the cover: luxury items
- plot element that can be linked to the district: luxury items

SPELLOUT: CLOCK PUZZLE
- we need a K, U, and E
@Marty - I assigned your Zig Zag for the spellout - are you ok with reading this in the next dayish?

(If you don't see a book you've read, we probably moved it and it's on the official sheet now and just hidden from view. )
