Melindam | 8291 comments Lauri, I added the code for the yellow cover (Column N, Mini ref), so it now shows up as claimed on the mini tab as well. ;)

Melindam | 8291 comments I have another short U-book if the slot is still going begging by the end of tomorrow, so I can fill it in fairly quickly.

Marty (martymill) | 167 comments I'll go ahead and claim the luxury item book then.

Ushashi (ushashib) | 567 comments Hi everyone!
Sorry for not being around much. A lot came up in life and work!! But I'm still here and will update the little I've read in between. Going to check the mini challenge now.

message 1505: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments I will be gone most of the day. I am taking my six-year-old granddaughter shopping for school clothes. And, of course, we are going out to breakfast for a little one-on-one time. And then a few days ago I had one of my ex students who graduated in 2014 send me a message and asked me to meet up with her because she is in town for a reunion. So I’m meeting up with her at 5:30. So I will be checking my phones throughout the day in case anything important comes up.

Catherine (royaltiescmb) | 660 comments I can go through as many as i can get to today to see how many options of each book we have. Although I do have a hard time knowing where the book is centered so if you guys see anything I miss, add it.

thanks

You can see where we are right now on the INFO tab - those numbers in orange to green on the right:

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I also have a #9 in series - I can't view the spreadsheet right now. If that one's not taken I can do it with The Grave's a Fine and Private Place (Flavia DeLuce #9).

Could someone please put me down for it, if it's still open? Thank you!!

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments Great job everyone!!

Our District 9 tasks are all claimed, and we need just 2 N's for our Arena Hazzard (spellout.)

We're also doing a great job building up our task bank - this mini's going to be fun :)

message 1517: by Cecily (new)

Cecily Black | 1805 comments I have claimed the two "N" tasks. How should one go about planning beyond this first round? Random other tasks, back up for the tasks we have for potential speed finish?

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments Cecily wrote: "I have claimed the two "N" tasks. How should one go about planning beyond this first round? Random other tasks, back up for the tasks we have for potential speed finish?"

Planning for upcoming districts spins will just be indicating which tasks your planned reads will work for. Maybe look for books that will work for some of the tougher tasks in the other districts.

If we like a district's tasks, we can keep banking books for that district, completing a few task sets if we want, before spinning for a new district. We'll see what we get. (My sense is that we'll want to spin after finishing this task set for District 9.)

Like Sophie said, we can also go after all the district task sets as well.

For the Hazards, maybe look for a Q or Z book, but otherwise we can hit the spellouts as we get them.

Not as straightforward planning-wise as some of the other minis, but will be fun I think :)

Please use the mini column in the round 3 tab. It will then automatically pull your book info into the mini sheet and means you can enter the resources and mini info in one place rather than 2.

I've been super distracted too! I've watched all of the various gymnastics competitions, both men's and women's, girls beach volleyball, men's volleyball, various swimming races, a little equestrian, one rugby game, a little of fencing...very little, and a few others. I record it all and fly through commercials and any events I don't want to watch or watch in full. I'm excited to see the rhythmic gymnastics but that's not on until August 8-10. I'm not really into watching boxing, wrestling, basketball (except if our country (USA) is playing. I can't watch them 24/7 and it upsets me that every time I want to watch something I have to pay for Peacock, Hulu, Paramount, etc. I pay enough for my cable and Netflix, so I won't pay for extra channels.

One thing I do to read is when I'm watching one of the events in real time, I silence all of the commercials and resume reading during those 5 or so minutes. lol It helps!

LOL My oldest is 30 now and my youngest is 4. But the GREATS are 10 down to 1 month. I'll add you if you come to good ol' Central Valley California...70-ish miles from San Francisco one direction, about 75 miles from Sacramento (the capital) the other direction. What's one more!

message 1545: by Marty (new)

Marty (martymill) | 167 comments @Catherine, I have Germania by Brendan McNally that will work for the D6 Germany task.

message 1546: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (royaltiescmb) | 660 comments OK I will add what needs to be added tomorrow. Just to clarify we need to NOT finish the books for other districts until we spin for them, is that correct?

message 1547: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments I threw another little tool on the INFO tab so you can select a district and then see the books / readers that have a book that hits that task. (This tool just shows info based on the Round 3 tab, so don't enter any info here.)

As we start on new districts this should help get our banked books sorted. Once a book is official for an active district or spellout, we'll erase the alternate bank info for that book, so we have a clearer idea of what we have for subsequent spins.

Correct - only 1 district and 1 spellout active at a time. Districts we can repeat, and if we've already done that district, we can respin. Spellouts - we get what we get :)

Toy can finish them so long as it is after the start of the mini. They then go into a bank of books for us all to use. It maybe that later on in the mini we have a full stack in the bank and can roll again straight away.
