Thank you. 🥰

Because I like a frequent update of how we are doing!
All books for the mini have been claimed. I will probably drop my #5 in a series from the 1st wall as it hasn't come in from the library yet and I'd like someone else to have a shot at it if they want rather than me scrabbling for a last minute replacement!
We're 4th on the overall status wall which is fabulous. I'm going to update the sheet soon so there's potential for a little bit of movement there because you are all reading beautifully.
Yay Maritza, glad you've got it back!
We've got until 9am UTC on 15th July to read for the mini, which is the same time that our third and final round will start.

I seem to remember Lauri mentioning that she has options for #5 in series. :)
@Lauri,
not that I want to commit on your behalf. :)

My copy of network effect has just come in from the library (not my planned book but a helpful coincidence). If no one else can read anything I'll keep the task and swap the books.

Lemme know about that #5, Sophie.....

And we have to have our books for the minis by the 15th, right? Round 2 only has 4 days 11 hours left, so if we have more books than we can finish within those 4 days for the mini, can we move those to round 3?
If you ever want to know about the countdowns they are correct on both the tracking and main spreadsheets on the summary tabs.
Vicki - It was on the official sheet so had been hidden using the filter (triangles in the top of the column) for column B. I've removed the duplicate.

I am heading to NYC on the 11th and I return the 18th. I am bringing my laptop so I should still be able to update and such but my reading may slow down a bit.

Vicki - no problem at all! I spend more time playing with the team as than I should!
Marty - thanks for the recommendation.
Cecily - that sounds blissful. Enjoy your trip.
Suzanne - thanks for the update. Are you feeling any better?

I'm planning lots of reading time by the sea when not swimming. :)
I have started listening to Eruption: The Untold Story of Mount St. Helens and it is a fully intriguing story.
It's a bit like listening to a historical-family docu-drama, as it isn't only about the volcano eruption, but the human factor and the history of the place.
Currently it is included in the Audible com PLUS catalogue.

Reading and pedicures - that is a slice of heaven right there.

It was a sobering, but riveting story.

That sounds like a good one and I'm pretty sure there's likely very few people who've never heard of Mt. Saint Helens! I'm going to look into it and tell my daughter about it. The one who had surgery on her foot/ankle last Monday LOVES nonfiction. It's her favorite genre!

LOL Sounds like my kind of vacation!

Vicki, I'm sending healing vibes to your daughter.
Melinda, I wasn't aware of the Olson book. I love disaster dissections. Have you read Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster? If not, it's really good.

THAT SOUNDS GOOD!

The Backroom BOM thread is up and ready for DQ volunteers: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

was the clear winner.
As we have an aggressive start date of July 10, please volunteer for DQs if you are able :)

So sorry your daughter has to go trough such hardships. Sending healing thoughts. ♡
@Marty
Thank you for the recommendation. I have read books about Chernobyl (I still remember as a child how we learnt about it in Hungary, even though the government back then tried to hush it up - things haven't really changed since then, it seems), but will check this out.
TBH, I chose to read Eruption b/c it is included in the Audible plus catalogue and b/c it had Nature MPG, but I love to find these unexpected enjoyments - that's why I love these Mini tasks. :))
@Teddie
glad you made it home.

how did you like The Familiar?
Despite my nominating it, I'm only at 25%. I didn't know what to expect from it, though the premise was promising.
I only read 1 book by Bardugo before, but found it middling, so I never went on with that series: Shadow & Bone.
But I really wanted to try sth else by her (The Ninth House seemed to have too many triggers for me, so I consciously avoided that). So far I'm enjoying The Familiar much more than expected. I hope it will last to the end. :)
