If it was started after 15 May, then it counts in the round you finish it, even if you are just reading the last 2 pages in the next round.

Suzanne | 5417 comments I volunteer to read:
Night of the Living Trekkies

But I'm fine reading for a different phase too.

Night
Night Shield

Are my options. Happy to read either or neither and can probably be back up depending what other people have put it.

With what other people have put in, are you able to start reading them in just over a week and get them finished within the week?

message 754: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments I can read either of the 2 books I listed during battle week.

message 755: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 286 comments The random selection was Melinda’s The Night Watch.

message 756: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments Thank you, Stephanie. I commit to read it during Battle week.

District 9 has battled back with :
The Atcho Conspiracy
(crazily enough one of their members had on their TBR shelf!)

So, books with:
ACYxxxxxx
RACY xxxxx
PIRACY xxx

Looks like a good round for spicy book lovers :D

message 758: by Melindam (last edited Jun 15, 2024 09:32AM) (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments This is just a suggestion, but I found this cosy, if someone would be interested to read this. :)

A Cyclist's Guide to Crime & Croissants

message 759: by Teddie (last edited Jun 15, 2024 09:52AM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments a few others...

ACY
A Cyber Affair
A Cyborg's Tale
A Cygnet's Tale

Or onto RACY?

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments I don't know if I will need to read or be able to read for the night books, but if I am needed to read one, I can read Night Embrace. I am already reading Verse and Vengeance so I'm not even sure if I can read 2 books, but we need 10 night books, right?

message 762: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments Vicki,

I have claimed the Night book, so you don't need to read that. :)

message 763: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments If we end up with ACY books, I'd be happy to read A Cyclist's Guide to Crime & Croissants

OHHHHHHHHH, Okay, I'm still figuring this one out. lol So only ONE person reads a night book? Only one an ACY book (if that's what we end up with)?

Sophie (drsophie) | 5684 comments Mod
I can read:
A Cyclists guide to crime and croissants or A cyber affair

Both are genres I enjoy and are Kindle Unlimited which helps!

A Cyber Affair would be my preference.

Yes, that's the plan. It's nice to have someone else who can access the book and read it in case life goes crazy for whoever has volunteered.

message 767: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 286 comments Let’s go with Sophie’s Cyber affair.

message 768: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I volunteer as tribute! Uh, I mean I can be a backup person only because I need to get books from the library or read on Libby. Not all books are available as quickly as I would need them.
I do have about 80 books out right now, however…. :)

If we want a minimal overlap, I am prepared (if not overjoyed about the fact) Lube Job. I've read books by them before and they are perfectly readable.

message 774: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments Sophie, don't read it if you don't want to. Trouble is, I don't think we are much better off with "club" either.

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments Sophie wrote: "If we want a minimal overlap, I am prepared (if not overjoyed about the fact) Lube Job. I've read books by them before and they are perfectly readable."

lol - we should get our lub- and D1's ere- together - haha.

This is a tough one. I saw a couple other Lub- books, but I'm not seeing them at libraries or KU.

If Lube Job is not really appealing, I can read Club Dead?

message 776: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8295 comments Tried to check titles with Club and found 2 thrillers only, one is called The Club which I don't feel keen about.
The other is titled The Club Dumas which actually sounds OK

message 777: by Teddie (last edited Jun 16, 2024 12:26PM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments I agree - don't read something you don't want to read. I love the Sookie Stackhouse series, so I'm good with rereading that.

ETA: I'm also good with reading The Club Dumas - good find! NYPL has that as ebook and audio if we like that title better.

Also, all of the battle books have been decided on and claimed, is that right?

Sophie (drsophie) | 5684 comments Mod
Nope, we're waiting on Stephanie to send our 4th choice to district 9, then when they respond we'll figure out our 5th book. So we've got 6 choices left to make.

I could read I Only Roast the Ones I Love: Busting Balls Without Burning Bridges if wanted, but I'm fine with us going for Teddie's book!
