Don't stress over the colors - the ones listed in the rules are just examples, any reason you can think of to relate a color to a category will work.
Brown: Log Cabin: Shelter
Blue: Blueberry: Food
White: Smoke Bombs: Weapons
etc
And feel free to crowd source from the team at any point as well! The categories are meant to be subjective so any reasonable connection we can find is fair game!

And then I went to an author event for Christina Lauren for their new release so that was very fun!
Hoping to finish something over the weekend! (It won't be my long book yet but it'll be something!)

I've literally been getting home from work, eating some dinner, taking a ..."
oh no vicky you poor thing ♡

totally works!

We all knew the mods had something up their sleeves... this is not a mini, just a fun little twist.
Check out the info about Supply Drops here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Did I miss anything???"
Check out the new Supply Drops we'll have soon to discuss what we want to do. Vicky linked the post a little way up. But otherwise...YAY CONGRATS AND WELCOME BACK!

Heck I just put my book

And a bishop burnt it.

CR:

Do I need to update on the spreadsheet?

Do I need to update on the spreadsheet?"
Yes please - just make sure you're adding the book to your shelf and adding the read date as well as any category information to the listing on the spreadsheet. :)

June Backroom BOM Poll
Love that How I Stole the Princess's White Knight and Turned Him to Villainy: The Complete Works is on the list as I'm crossing my fingers it gets picked since I plan to reread it next month before diving into the second book. :)

Personally, I like to add mine as I plan to read them so I can quickly just add the date when I finish, but that's just my own preference to keep my brain organized.

I’ve added books I know I’m going to read for other challenges but I have to remember I can’t start some of them till June.

I'm rereading, and I loved the books when I read it the first time. I remember hating the movies. Going to rewatch and reevaluate lol

I haven’t read the book. Sometimes it’s annoying to see the movie later and see everything they got wrong.😀

My husband is doing a great job as cook and nurse but thinks he might be getting it too. We did Covid in relay☹️

I so dont like summer colds....hope you feel better soon...

Last week of autumn for us. I don’t get sick often but when I do I seem to get one of these horrible viruses usually around now for some reason. Although apparently it’s when the new northern hemisphere bugs journey south.

Sorry to hear that. I know how it feels loosing a beloved pet. My heart goes to you

Take a look and jump back over with any questions. :)

Thanks Shelby. It looks fairly straightforward—after checking what a diacritic is haha
Questions re supply drops—what is the point? If there’s no quota needed in each area why would we boost another team? What does our team gain? What if we drop a few books and they give us nothing?

And I just finished one that has them all A Superficial Journey through Tokyo and Peking.

The other is

Also

I'm honestly not 100% sure, lol. They haven't announced anything to the captains yet (we usually only get a few days of sneak peeks so we can clarify any questions we have) but I'm expecting that we'll see another twist come round 2. The fact that one of our options for using books that are supply dropped to us is to protect one of our resource piles makes me pretttttty confident they're going to give us a reason that they need to be protected, even if I don't know what that reason is.
Part of the risk of this is that no one is required to send a supply drop. We could send over 3 books and get none in return. We get no benefit from sending books outside of (hopefully) the good will of the other team who will also send us books. However, the only thing we LOSE from sending books is the ability to use them in the mini. We still get the page points and we still add them to our resource piles.
I'd love everyone's input on this, so please discuss! My feeling is, at least for the first round where we don't have a mini to worry about, that we start off on the right foot and send over a supply drop. Doing it this round doesn't mean we're obligated to do it for the next so we can absolutely reevaluate for round two, but with no mini completing for our books until round 2 starts we don't lose anything by sending over a few books. :)

Thank you 💙

I went through and did a full check of books today and have some books that need to be added to shelves, etc. Please take a look if your name is here! I know Goodreads tends to do weird things, so no blame here just want to get everything accounted for!
Ari - Please add The Nestlings and Salt & Broom to your challenge shelf.
Cindy - I added Loving Logan to the spreadsheet from your shelf but please fill out what resources it qualifies for when you can!
Jax - Mrs. Pollifax on the China Station, Filterworld, and The Fury need read dates and to be added to your read shelf. Please add The Hunger Games to your challenge shelf. And you have Unlucky 13 on the spreadsheet as completed but I don't see it on your shelf.
Lucy - Please add Flat-Out Love to your read shelf.
Shelby - I added Lash from your shelf, but please fill in resources when you can!

We now have a sheet for the cornucopia mini on the tracking spreadsheet, a few things to note:
1. We have two weeks for the mini and we'd like to give everyone a chance to claim some books. So until June 7th/8th-ish we'd like for everyone to keep a maximum of 3 unread claims. If you claim three and read them all and want to claim another three, feel free! We just don't want anyone to come in and claim 12 tasks right off the bat.
2. Feel free to start staking some claims now if you know you'll be reading books that qualify!
3. I've also added a suggestions box for each task, so if you know of a book but know you won't get to it feel free to toss it in that box for the rest of the team to consider!
4. For the Cornucopia in the title tasks, note that you DO NOT need 2 of the Cs or Os - one of each letter is sufficient! :)
5. For the diacritic task, note that the mods have rules in the captain's group that the edition you read must have the diacritic. There seems to be some books where an English translation of a book also "translates" the author's name and the diacritic is removed. So keep an eye out for those.
6. For the "horns" tasks - they have to be horns and not antlers and/or tusks. This means no Narwhals (their horn is a tusk) and no deer or moose like creatures (they have antlers). BUT they can also be musical horns (trumpet, trombone, etc).

I agree. If we don't lose anything giving them, then why not? Like everyone else, I have no idea what's coming but this seems like a low risk time to just give them.

Lol! I fell asleep in the middle of all my updating last night. Hadn't gotten to the point of adding them to the spreadsheet. Added the categories for Lash and I've got one more I'll add on later this morning after my walk. :)
