So just letting you know that this might have spoilers.
This is a trilogy, btw.
In the first book, there is girl who'd father dies in the middle of the war that is taking place, making her in charge of the army. That's almos all I remember except she becomes queen and marries this male witch, who's name starts with "O".
The 2nd book's cover is a scimitar on fire. It's essentially about how the two people from above have had (3?) kids and how one of them has a lame leg. He has always wanted to fight in the war. There's a new war coming up, and he gets sent off to some desert-like country, and meets one of his best friends there. The sister, to the boy with the lame leg, is kind of an evil witch and is essentially banished because she got evil creatures to come and attack her people.
