I respect your nana Jordan🫡 (I’m sorry I don’t know how to reply to things on goodreads)

What really turned me into an avid reader was the Famous Five series of books by Enid Blyton. So adventurous and fascinating, with castles, caves, underground passages, sunken boats and hidden treasures.
The three older brothers of my best female friend lent me their old Famous Five books and I was hooked.

My teacher had a classroom library and had the first two books of this series. I fell in love with the series and brought the rest of them.
This series didn't get actually get me into reading but, it made me love fantasy

I want to say one of my earliest memories was probably the first time in elementary school we had a class trip to the library, I was maybe in 2nd or 3rd grade and I fell in love. I also remember always getting excited when the teacher would hand out those scholastic order forms and I'd run home super excited to get money to order new books.
The first two series I got into were
Teen Witch by Megan Barnes
andSweet Valley High by Francine Pascal.
I actually felt nostalgic a while ago and repurchased The first 3 books of Teen Witch and my youngest daughter and I were able to bond over it. While tempted to do the same for Sweet Valley High, there are just too many, lol.As an adult I'd say the series that got me back into reading were
The Darkest Power Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong
andThe House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast
I got to share these beauties with my Oldest daughter and now my youngest also love the House of night series.

Harry Potter would be my other one, I know I know thats every 90s kid's favorite book series but they also inspired me to write a lot more.

In Middle school I discovered Victoria Holt & Phyllis Whitney. I’ve been a Historical Mystery fan ever since.

I think I read Where the Red Fern grows at 8-10 years of age, and I uh...do NOT recommend that at all.
