Done! Also noticed both lists had other books what looked like after #1 in series, but I'm not sure if any of those could be standalones. If anything else doesn't meet criteria, please let me know!

For the year 2023, I’d like to vote for a book published that year. The Rise and the Fall of the EAST: Examination, Autocracy, Stability and Technology by Yasheng Huang—says it wasn’t published in 2023. Can’t even vote for it in the decade of the 2020s.
