@Ya, glad you can join! I know, I need more reading hours too! :)"
@Jeanne & Rejane, I also DNF'd a book by that author!!!
@Ya, I'm so happy that you'll be joining us. It's my first Heather Demetrios novel so I'm super excited!!! :)

I think so too, Jeanne! I'm so excited! It's always exciting to discover a new brilliant author (since there are really very FEW brilliant authors out there). :)
Oh, Maida, I highlighted half the book when I read I'll Meet You There. My friends who loved that loved this one too, so I have high hopes:)

Ooh... I have a tendency to highlight like crazy whenever it's a brilliant book. I CANNOT wait! :) Oh, & I guess that I should also mention that if it's an "especially brilliant" book (since there are different gradations of "brilliance"), I've formulated a system whereby I color-code my highlights based on importance, subject matter, etc. Bottom line: I become neurotic when it comes to highlighting fantastic novels.
Haha! Well I hope she gives you some good material in this one. When I read a book by a talented author, it makes me realize how much crap I read, and how I almost get used to it. :)

Jeanne, I know, right? One of my resolutions for 2015 is to balance out the amount of "crap" that I read w/ the number of "quality books" that I read. I have a chart on my computer to make sure that I stay on track. ;)
I've noticed that after reading a book by a truly talented author, I have a difficult time transitioning back to reading fluff. So after our BR on Thursday, I'm planning on reading I'll Meet You There. Therefore, I'll be able to discuss BOTH novels w/ you & Ya. xoxo
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't think I personally want to read Overruled anymore. At the very least I will wait for more reviews. It really bothers me that he acts the way he does when he has a daughter, I just don't think that's a book boyfriend I can get behind. Anyone who wants to read it, feel free to start a thread. :))

I'm with Jeanne on this one. I've maxed out my yearly quota for sh*tty characters. And I think that the hero in Overruled is especially sh*tty for demonstrating to his 10-year old daughter that it's okay for men to treat women abhorrently... and moreover, that it's okay for men to just walk in & out of their families' lives with abandon. NOT COOL. :(((

Oh, & what's worse is that (view spoiler) It's beyond repulsive. Who does that sort of thing?!?

I agree, Share. This type of writing is making me weary. Real life is already difficult enough. Do I really want to bring crappy fictional characters into my life as well?
Here's a link with the spoilers, in case you're interested:

You know, I don't even have a problem with love triangles if they are well written. I just don't see myself swooning over a guy who shows up to play dad to his daughter and sleep with her mom when he feels like it, then goes back to screwing other women. I don't care if they have an open relationship, that's just icky. And what kind of mom puts up with that, I don't like the idea of her character either:(

Lol, I think when I'm starting br's of new books with only arc reviews out there, I'm feeling a little more weary:)

So true! I used to immediately buy the newer books with 5 star arc ratings, now I know better. I wait for the real reviews if you know what I mean. That's what I did with The Deal.
@Maida, Holy crap! Thanks for that link, I'm loving her honesty!

Here it is, whenever you're ready.
The blurb implies that (view spoiler)
oh, boy. Just imagine how riled up we'd get if we actually read this series. I'm already imagining myself looking up junk punching gifs. Lol!! :)

I know, right?!? And don't get me wrong. I'm a big supporter of (view spoiler) I don't know. This storyline is just too OTT for my tastes.

Oops, my bad. Someone just told me that the hero in Book 2 is NOT Stanton. It's his friend, Jake, instead. Hm... Well, I guess that the clarification makes me hate Stanton "less." However, I still wouldn't want to read about him.
Lol, OK thanks for clarifying that, but I still don't want to read about him either. The spoiler in that review is a turn off. (view spoiler)

Agreed! Who does that sort of thing? It's just further proof of his "sense of entitlement." He wants to have his cake & eat it too. (view spoiler) This guy doesn't deserve an HEA. If anything, he deserves a lonely life...
Well, I will consider reading the next one if they are stand alones. I skipped the second book in the last series because Ami told me to. (Lol) But then I read book 3. We'll see. I agree, (view spoiler)

Furthermore, most psychologists agree that the childhood years (from birth to approximately age 8) are the formative years in terms of personality & social behavior. (view spoiler) *sigh* Some people should not be allowed to procreate.

I was thinking the same thing! Now that we know that it's this Jake guy (and not Stanton) who's the hero in Book 2, it may be worth the read! I think that the storyline could be similar to Worth the Fall, which we all enjoyed enough. If Jake is willing to help this woman & the 6 orphaned kids, then he would be the sort of hero that I WANT to read about. ;)
Lol just read through your spoilers... def not for me either. I have been a bit weary of Emma Chase esp since book 2 when the entire book was based on (view spoiler) This sounds worse!!
@jeanne well we still got Jojo Moyes and JJ. I be gutted if they write a bad book

@jeann..."
Oh, I agree, Ami. I hated Book 2. (view spoiler) They both acted so immaturely, & it's the kind of drama that I just can't handle in my literature. PLUS, (view spoiler) I can't stand senseless drama. :/
Haha, YW Rejane...I usually avoid reviews ect as much as possible because I don't want to know everything about the book before I read it, but I kept seeing friends put it on their no way in hell type shelves and had to find out why. :))
Ami, I do think Jojo Moyes is dependable. The worst that I think can happen with her is she'll write something less awesome than her other stuff:))

I don't avoid spoilers. Actually, I "stalk" them. Lately, I trust no blurb and no author. And sadly, I don't pre-order anymore or automatically one click authors I used to like (trust).

Ps: Drew tried to make out with a striper in book 2?! WTF?! What an Ass*ole!!

Ya, (view spoiler) Drama, drama, drama... all resulting from a lack of honesty & communication. *sigh*

Ps: Drew tried to make out with a striper in book 2?! WTF?! Wha..."
LOL. Did you miss that train? I read a lot of spoilers and everything happened because of old big M(miscommunication) in 2 years relationship.

I dare to say it'll be a little more worse because there's already a 10 year old girl in the picture. It's very disrespectful of the H to treat the mother (h) like he does ( I honestly don't know what authors are trying to accomplish with plots where they just dismiss good values and examples like they are just a society annoyance. I knocked it's fiction, but still...

Is there a BR scheduled for Tammara Webber's new book (Book 3 of the "Contours of the Heart series")? I wonder if we'll see Lucas & Jacqueline in this book. Anyway, I think that the release date is April 27.
Please let me know what you think! Thanks!
Oh, I would read that! Why are they releasing all these books on the same day. gah, I need something to read now. We have a br on the 28th and 30th. When should we squeeze it in? I could do the 27th, if I'm still finishing it on the 28th that would be OK. It's been a long time since I read that, but I loved Lucas! <33

If I read "The Deal" in time, then I may join you all for "The Mistake" on the 28th. It's crazy how many books are being released on the same day!!!

I just started a thread, Ya. I guess it worked out that we all decided to drop Overruled, it was easy to work this one in, Lol.
Books mentioned in this topic
King of Hearts (other topics)Attraction (other topics)
Changing His Game (other topics)
The Deal (other topics)

Actually, I only read the Game series from her and I liked it. Analyzing it today, I wouldn't have like it so much because of the cheating aspect. I think that's where I got an "aversion" with books with cheating on it. But the writing in this one was weak and lazy. So misleading.
