jmbadia | 5 comments Hi !
I just added the first volume of the Eneide (Virgili) Eneida, volum I. It is a modified edition of a previous one (more expensive) Eneida, vol. I. I want to combine both editions with the original Virgil work. How can I do it? I am Goodreads librarian and I will proceed similarly with the rest of Eneid's volums

Liralen | 8212 comments Virgil will need to be set as the primary author for both editions (Virgili as second author). Once that is done, you can follow the usual instructions for combining: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

You'll want to use work IDs to combine: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

It looks like these are not the full Aeneid—make sure you're combining them with the correct portion of the Aeneid, not with the full work.

I have to combine into one final work all Aneid editions that contains only books I-III ? (Eneida, volum I, Aeneid; . Books I-III, ...)
Thanks

Liralen | 8212 comments Yes. Editions that contain only books I–III should only be combined with other editions that contain books I–III. They should not be combined with the complete Aeneid (which is 12 books, I think?) or with, e.g., books IV–VI.

I probably wouldn't combine the two you linked in message 3, actually, because the first one is 237 pages and the second one is 54, which can be (though isn't always) a sign that they don't have the same material. But it gets tricky with this sort of book.

jmbadia | 5 comments Well, my edition has a long prologue (100 pages) and it's bilingual (latin / catalan) so more or less they match
(237-100)/2 ~ 68 pages
Thanks for your help !
