Skyler I read this book around 2018, though I feel as though it was published circa 2005 as there was no explicit use of cellphones or otherwise. Basically, the book had four main POVs. The first was about a wealthy man and his previous wives, all of which ended in divorce. I believe one of the plots discusses how he fell in love with his third wife while still married to his second wife. The second POV was about the man's second wife and what she did with the rest of her life (she wrote a comic book). The third POV was about a child travelling with a Shakespearean circus (specifically played a main character in Midsummer) who, many years later, found the comic books and began collecting them. The fourth POV was about an elderly gentleman who ultimately ended up killing himself when the end of the world began. Keep in mind that this is generally what I remember to have occurred, but my memory on the specific details may be sub-par.
The main idea was that a virus of some kind wiped out a majority of humanity and only a certain amount of people were left. Other minor details include an opera house in which the man met his third wife, the second wife ending up dying on a beach the night that the world ended, and the last chapter is specifically about the comic book and the character in it (an astronaut in space, I don't remember much else about the comic book other than it did take place in space).
The cover had a tent with stars in the background of a meadow setting, It was pretty, it's what originally drew me to read the book. I believe there was a teenager involved in the plot as well, and that she travelled with the circus along with her younger brother. I'm sorry I can't remember more details, but if anyone knows what this is I would really appreciate it as I remember thoroughly enjoying the book and its characters, even I was sometimes confused by the many shifts in POVs and times.
