Fiction - read in last 5 years or so. Main protagonist is searching for her half sister, who is pregnant, she works in a hippy cafe in a suburb of LA and has a brief affair with a guy in a yurt who lives on the same property as her

This was a new (likely since ~2017) adult fiction novel set in an outer suburb of Los Angeles, in the hills where you can hear coyotes. The portagonist is looking for, stalks and eventually befriends her half-sister, who is pregnant and gives birth at the end of the novel. She lives on a large property with several other characters in different dwellings, one of whom she has a brief romantic relationship but which ends when she realises he is sleeping with her sister. She works in a hippy cafe in the hills, where she serves soup to her sister and witnesses a fatal car crash. At the end, she steals a watch from her landlord and may or may not be involved in a murder! Have been looking for some time, but simply cannot remember name or author. any clues helpful! Had thought for ages it was a Melissa Broder but alas, it's sort of that air of contemporary fiction coming out of California.
